Badger or Coati

Nasua narica

Habitat: It is found in tropical forests but it is also common to find them in pine forests and semi-deserts.


Diet: It feeds on fruits and invertebrates, but also on small rodents, amphibians, reptiles, birds, eggs and occasionally carrion.


Habits: It is active during the day, it is terrestrial, climbs trees where it rests or flees from its predators. They form groups composed of females and young, adult males are solitary.


It is interesting that… The females make their nests in the trees with leaves and branches, where they are born and raise their young.
