Sphiggurus mexicanus

Habitat: It is found in medium and high forests, mountain forests and coniferous forests, from sea level to 2300 m.


Food: It feeds on leaves, buds, stems, bark, seeds and fruits.


Habits: It is active at night and generally solitary, it is arboreal and takes refuge in tree hollows. Spend the day lounging on tree branches.


It is interesting that… The young are born with their bodies covered with hair and short spines that harden after 3 or 4 days.
