Weasel

Mustela frenata

Habitat: It is found in tropical forest, oak forest, semi-deserts and grasslands. It is also seen in cultivated areas, they tolerate areas disturbed by human beings, but they prefer open places and near water sources.


Feeding: It is strictly carnivorous; feeds on mice, gophers, squirrels, shrews, rabbits, and birds.


Habits: It is a solitary and territorial animal that is active during the day and at night. It is terrestrial although it can easily climb trees. It makes its burrow in rocks, cavities and logs.
