Habitat: From tropical and subtropical forests to deserts.


Food: Vegetables, but also eats small vertebrates and invertebrates.


Habits: It is more active during the day. It has a scent gland on its back, near the tail, which it uses to mark its territory and interact with other individuals of its species; lives in herds or herds of up to 20 individuals that actively defend their territory.


It is interesting that… The collared peccary has two pairs of fangs of up to four centimeters that collide with each other when it feels threatened and that it uses as a defensive weapon
